Mary Heine and a friend head for town

1 of 4

Living the farming life did not allow for much leisure time, but when it did there was plenty to do. A trip to town might mean a visit with family and friends. Sunday could offer a church event or a baseball game. Parties, picnics and dances enriched rural social life.

It was not uncommon for women to drive buggies, wagons and field teams.
