tending sheep, c. 1918

18 of 18

At the end of one day, Tillie pointed her camera towards boys on a neighboring farm tending their flock of sheep at sunset. In this picture, as in all of her images, Tillie photographed common sights of the early 20th century, but she also captured the unique beauty of the life and land of rural Hanover Township.
