he Streamwood Historical Society was founded in 1980 as a not for profit corporation, for the purpose of promoting and fostering the development of a sense of history and tradition surrounding the Village of Streamwood.
Society members act as volunteer docents and guides to the Hoosier Grove Museum, host programs and events for the public and work cooperatively with neighboring historical societies to increase awareness of the area's rich history.
Membership in the Streamwood Historical Society is open to anyone who is interested in learning about, preserving and promoting local history and culture.
Meetings are generally held on the first Monday of every month (except August) at the Hoosier Grove Barn, 700 West Irving Park Road, Streamwood, Illinois.
